I'm finding with my dock that i still have to open my laptop to turn it on. I thought the dock turned it on automatically? Basically my dock came in good for the extra ports. If I still have to open my laptop to turn it on, the dock wasn't worth the $150.

The content filters tells me all your browsing history is fed via Amazon this is a big turn off for me and a security issue.

So if I buy one eero, is it even worth it? It has to sit right next to the router, so am I even getting any better wi-fi coverage?

Lately, Dell's product quality has been atrocious. I have an XPS 17 where the video memory is failing. A $CDN2000 repair since the motherboard has to be replaced. and the docking station I have has its USB port fail after 13 months. My XPS 13 has had to have its screen replaced twice one under warranty and the second was a $600 replacement after 15 months. My G5 fans mysteriously have started running at full speed since I had to have the keyboard replaced after an unexpected failure of the G key. Another $400 repair. Dell cannot solve the fan issue and suggests replacing the motherboard, keyboard, and screen for $3500 otherwise they suggest I live with it since it's no longer under warranty after two years. Dell's strategy seems to be to buy it once and pay for it twice in repairs.

I have this dock connected to my XPS 13 Plus but sometimes it wont turned on (lamp indicator in the connected not turned on) or connect to my monitor, anyone know the solution?

Nowadays there are plenty of apple like keyboards for windows. The HP 975 is my favorite but damn! 120 dollars for a keyboard! I would just get the 450 instead. Just 50 dollars, still insane for such a generic design. However I'm still using my Apple Space Grey iMac Pro keyboard with my insane windows build. I really just like the feel of Apple Magic Keyboards. The perfect balance between normal laptop style keys and the butterfly keys, which I do like for using on laptops but I hate it when using it for a desktop experience

Nice work-around for the dual external displays on Apple. We have an earlier (USB-C 3.0) version of this dock and it was a PITA getting it to work with Mac. Apple does not natively support more than one external display on it's "lower end" (e.g. Macbook Air) laptops. We had to install the DisplayLink Software to enable this functionality.

It's a shame things are the way they are in terms of weird issues and annoyances. With Apple Silicon, but also laptops in general, laptops are getting powerful enough to replace desktops for a lot of people, but with the docking experience still being so janky in 2023, it feels like keeping a desktop around is still going to be the play for quite some time now.

Yah, Audio-In is an issue with all Dell docks

My cable provider left me with one of these but you can't jack into it with multiple ethernet connections. 🤷‍♀️ It doesn't matter I'm only going with the 300 anyways but still I mean it's just weird.
